It’s very hard to promote through consistent play, seems all luck-based
Some games you’ll just lose due to luck. But when I lose 8 points for finishing 8th/15, but get 10 for finishing 1st/26, it feels impossible to promote unless I’m consistently godlike.

Noted. The ratings are ELO, comparing pairwise against every other player in the heat. As you climb and stabilize at your ELO, it becomes harder to climb. Obviously ELO is more typically used in pure skill-based things, like Chess. I've been playing around with the idea of having something like a board where you see all of the teams ahead of time, and then have 60 seconds to fill in the players, making it pure skill-based. Or introducing some kind of salary cap, similar to the spend $15 to build out your roster-type games.
